New Zealand airline again tops the list of the world's safest: ranking
When traveling by air, passengers are concerned about flight safety, among other things. Recently, the ranking of the safest airlines was compiled by The Airline Ratings, a well-known aviation platform that annually publishes a list of the world's safest airlines.
The top list was compiled based on an analysis of nearly 400 airlines using 11 criteria. Among them are serious safety incidents, recent fatal accidents, inspections by aviation authorities, and the age of the fleet, as reported by The Times Travel.
It is important to note that events beyond the airline's control, such as collisions with birds, injuries due to turbulence, weather deviations, or lightning strikes, are not included in this assessment. Air New Zealand has once again secured the title of the world's safest airline, reclaiming the top spot in 2024 and surpassing its peer, Qantas.
It is highlighted that Air New Zealand's experienced pilots excel at navigating some of the most challenging weather conditions, including Wellington's notorious winds and Queenstown's complex navigation requirements. At the same time, Qantas, the reigning champion from the previous year, now ranks second on the list, along with Virgin Australia, Etihad Airways, and Qatar.
If you plan to travel with an airline ranked lower on the list, there's no need to worry. It is essential to note that the difference in safety among the leading airlines is minimal.
