New Nonstop Route Links UAE and Southern Germany

Following a formal announcement on July 7, 2025, a new nonstop service between Sharjah and Munich is set to begin on December 15. The route will be operated daily by Air Arabia using Airbus A320neo aircraft, marking the airline’s first entry into the German scheduled flight market. The link establishes regular movement between the Gulf region and southern Germany for the first time on this route.
Sharjah is located roughly 30 kilometres from Dubai and functions as one of the key cities in the United Arab Emirates. Munich, the capital of Bavaria, sits in the south of Germany and is known for its accessibility to alpine and central European destinations. Both airports have confirmed the launch and the operational timeline for the new route.
Travellers flying into Munich in winter will find several outdoor spaces that remain open and active. Olympiapark, built for the 1972 Olympics, has walking routes, elevated viewpoints and lakeside paths that stay accessible even in colder months. Another option is Theresienwiese, a wide open area near the centre used during winter for fairs, temporary skating zones or simply as a quiet public space.
When temperatures drop in Sharjah, it finally becomes the kind of weather where you actually want to stay outside and move around. Al Khan Lagoon remains popular for walking along the shore and spending time by the water. A short drive inland brings visitors to Mleiha, where rock formations, desert trails and viewpoints are more accessible in winter without the heat extremes of summer.

The introduction of this service adds a direct air connection between southern Germany and the northern United Arab Emirates. Having a flight every day makes it easier for people to travel between these places without needing to switch planes along the way. Tickets can already be booked on the airline’s website, and flights are planned to run throughout the entire year without seasonal breaks.
