Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air has shared a first look at the cabin layouts for its Boeing 787 9 aircraft, which are set to be part of the airline’s debut in 2025. Riyadh Air has designed its new cabins to meet the needs of long-haul passengers, blending comfort, modern technology, and quiet nods to regional culture.

A single design style will be used throughout all cabin classes, so passengers can expect a similar experience no matter which seat they choose. Each passenger in the Business Elite cabin will have access to huge 4K OLED screens, separate privacy doors, and lie-flat Safran Unity chairs. Upgraded high-resolution entertainment screens and additional legroom will be available in the Premium Economy and Economy sectors.

Riyadh Air has always promised to deliver a world-class experience for our guests and the unveiling of our cabin interiors make this ambition a reality. The design, layout, and features of our new cabins are carefully crafted to ensure flights are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the ergonomic and luxurious fabrics in the seats to the high-end technology used in the entertainment systems, every facet of the cabins has been chosen to deliver relaxing luxury.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air

Subtle regional influences are added via design elements including carefully chosen materials, adjustable lighting, and ceiling structures modeled after traditional tent shapes. Free Wi-Fi will be available for loyalty members, and the Business cabin will include integrated audio by Devialet, reflecting a focus on high-end comfort and connectivity.

The airline says these features are meant to meet the needs of different types of travelers while also helping to ease fatigue on long flights. Tourists may like the ambient lighting intended to promote natural rest cycles, while business and educational travelers may benefit from reliable internet connectivity and in-seat charging.

The launch of Riyadh Air highlights a broader change in Gulf aviation, with airlines paying more attention to practical cabin features shaped by passenger expectations and regional character. As competition in the region intensifies, such efforts may set new expectations among flyers. By blending consistent cabin quality with useful amenities and cultural elements, Riyadh Air could influence how other carriers approach comfort across all classes.
