New Flight Frequency Boost Connects Manchester and Mumbai
The air connection between Manchester and Mumbai has been increased, with IndiGo now operating four flights per week instead of three, starting 22 September. The route, launched in July, is the airline’s first European and long-haul service and has already carried thousands of passengers. This direct connection provides Northern England with a faster option to reach India’s financial center without requiring transfers through other airports.
Travelers now have more options for timing their journeys due to the added flights. According to the revised timetable, IndiGo operates four weekly flights between Manchester and Mumbai:
- The service has increased from three to four departures per week;
- The additional flight offers more flexibility for planning trips;
- Travel demand is more evenly distributed across the week, improving seat availability.
“Since its launch in July 2025, the route has consistently see a positive customer response and high uptake, reaffirming our proposition on the route. Encouraged by this strong response, we are pleased to announce an increase in frequency on this route and look forward to adding more capacity in due course."

Visitors can walk along Marine Drive, the city’s coastal boulevard, explore Crawford Market with its food stalls and shops, or visit the Gateway of India on the waterfront. Passengers arriving from India have the opportunity to base themselves in Manchester while exploring the surrounding area.
