Qantas has revealed that its seasonal Perth-Rome service will expand in 2026, with an extended operating period and an extra weekly flight. The airline will operate the route from 3 May to 23 October, increasing peak-season frequency from three to four flights per week. This change introduces more than 40 additional flights and nearly 10,000 extra seats, giving travelers greater choice and flexibility for trips between Western Australia and Italy.

Service is available across the northern summer, covering both late spring and early autumn in Rome. Main advantages for travelers include:

  • Smooth connections to domestic flights from eastern Australia.
  • Improved access for Australians visiting Rome.
  • Convenient travel options for European passengers heading to Perth.
  • Flights scheduled during peak months with favorable weather.

This route makes it easier for travelers to reach central Rome attractions, including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona. Flights leaving Perth in the evening arrive in Rome in the morning, allowing travelers to explore major attractions that same day. Additional services allow travelers to include destinations such as Villa Borghese, the Roman Forum, and Trastevere, adding outdoor and cultural variety to their trips.

Additional nonstop flights to Perth give European travelers simpler access to the city’s key landmarks. Visitors can easily reach Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Cottesloe Beach, and Elizabeth Quay, all key destinations for leisure and sightseeing. The extended schedule eases pressure on limited seat availability and provides greater flexibility for itineraries that may include visits to Fremantle markets, cruises on the Swan River, or walks in John Forrest National Park.

The expansion of Perth-Rome flights reflects improved accessibility and convenience for long-haul travelers. With more seats available and an extended schedule, Qantas gives travelers greater flexibility in planning, shorter travel times, and easier access to international connections. For Australians and Europeans alike, the enhanced service provides efficient travel options while opening access to key attractions in both Rome and Perth.
