Mayfair Bank Building to Become Boutique Hotel
Minor Hotels has confirmed plans to open its first Colbert Collection property in the UK, with The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London set to launch in the final quarter of 2026. The five-star hotel will be located on Piccadilly, marking the debut of the group’s new premium soft brand in one of London’s central districts.
The property will include 50 rooms and suites across six floors, along with a restaurant and bar. The building stands on the corner of Piccadilly and Albemarle Street and used to house a NatWest bank and office space. It is now being converted into a hotel, with original architectural features kept as part of the design.
Originally designed in 1922–23 by Sir William Curtis Green, the Grade II listed building comes from a time when banks were built to look solid and imposing. It is now being converted into a hotel, reflecting a broader trend in the West End where former commercial buildings are given new uses while keeping their original features and architectural details intact.
The hotel sits close to Hyde Park, Green Park, Buckingham Palace, Bond Street and Piccadilly Circus. Theatres and restaurants in the West End are nearby. Green Park station is a few minutes away and has a direct Underground line to Heathrow Airport, while Victoria Station connects to trains across the UK.
The project also marks Royal Group of Companies Singapore’s first hotel investment in Europe. For those visiting London, the opening adds a smaller-scale, centrally located stay in Mayfair, combining access to major sights with a building that carries its own history, reflecting how older city spaces continue to find new roles in today’s travel landscape.
