Marriott Adds a Stargazing Hotel Near Joshua Tree
RESET Hotel near Joshua Tree National Park has joined Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, becoming the first new brand added since the collection launched in September 2025. The move brings the independent desert retreat onto Marriott’s booking platform, where members can earn and redeem Bonvoy points. The property retains its independent identity but now sits alongside Postcard Cabins and Trailborn in Marriott’s growing outdoor portfolio.

Each room opens onto a private patio with a fire pit, daybed and stargazing platform. Guests also have access to outdoor soaking tubs, a saltwater pool, hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. Night-time programmes use Celestron telescopes, while selected astronomy events are led by former NASA and Jet Propulsion Laboratory astronomers. Creative residencies and design events add options beyond hiking and desert drives.
The location gives visitors a new Marriott-linked base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park through its northern entrance near Twentynine Palms. Beyond the park, nearby places include Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center, Pioneertown and the Integratron. Guests can combine sunrise hikes, desert drives and night-sky sessions while staying closer to the landscape instead of returning to Palm Springs after every outing.
The hotel is not newly opened, but joining Marriott Bonvoy gives members the option to book points while still staying at an independently designed desert retreat. They can also earn points during their visit. Reaching RESET requires some planning, as Palm Springs International Airport is around 54 miles away, the hotel does not offer a shuttle, and most guests will need to hire a car.
