Manchester Adds Direct Algiers Route With Air Algérie
Manchester Airport will introduce its first direct connection to Algeria this summer, as Air Algérie prepares to launch a new service to Algiers. The route is scheduled to begin on 14 June, marking the first time the North African capital is linked directly with the airport. Flights will operate twice a week, adding another destination to Manchester’s expanding international network.
The new service will run on Tuesdays and Sundays, making Manchester the only UK airport outside London with a direct route to Algiers. Air Algérie will operate the flights using Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline joins Royal Air Maroc, Egyptair and Ethiopian Airlines as African carriers currently serving the airport, further strengthening links between the UK and the continent.
Algiers works as both a destination and a transfer point for onward travel. Flights connect the city with several African destinations, including Johannesburg, Abuja, Dakar and Douala. This gives more options for trips beyond Algeria, whether for tourism or visiting family, with the possibility to continue across the continent using a single stop.
