Lufthansa Opens Most Allegris Seats on 787

Lufthansa has confirmed that 25 of the 28 Allegris Business Class seats on its Boeing 787-9 aircraft are now available for booking on flights departing Frankfurt from 15 April 2026. Reservations are open immediately. The approval follows recent certification milestones, with only three seats in the second row still awaiting clearance.
Allegris, Lufthansa’s redesigned long-haul cabin concept introduced in summer 2024, has already been operating on Airbus A350-900 aircraft from Munich for more than a year. Since October 2025, the new interior has also been flying from Frankfurt on newly delivered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, gradually expanding the product across the airline’s network.
Passengers booking Business Class can select between standard Classic Seats, included in the fare, and several optional upgraded seating types for an additional charge. These include the Business Class Suite, an Extra Space Seat with more legroom, a Privacy Seat by the window, and an Extra Long Bed measuring 2.20 metres. Seat selection can be completed during the booking process.

“Our guests love Allegris. More than one million passengers have traveled in the new cabin since summer 2024. We are delighted to be able to offer significantly more passengers this top-of-the-range product for bookings from Frankfurt starting today. Allegris is an experience in all classes; the approval of the majority of seats in Business Class on the Boeing 787-9 is an important milestone for Lufthansa – and above all, great news for our customers!"
Eight Boeing 787-9 aircraft have already joined the Frankfurt fleet, with 21 more on order. Lufthansa plans to operate 29 Dreamliners by the end of 2027. As more aircraft enter service, the proportion of long-haul flights offering Allegris from Frankfurt is expected to grow steadily across the summer and winter schedules. For those booking premium cabins, this brings clearer seat options, more predictable layouts and a higher chance of securing a preferred configuration on key intercontinental routes.
