Klagenfurt Opens Its Greek Island Season
Klagenfurt Airport has opened its summer Greece charter season with Springer Reisen, giving travellers in Carinthia direct access to smaller Greek islands. The programme starts with weekly Saturday flights to Paros, operated by Avanti Air, and will run until mid-July. The route is aimed at holidaymakers looking for shorter airport journeys and direct flights into the Aegean.
Paros is being promoted as the main early-summer route, with its villages, beaches, whitewashed houses and harbour towns such as Parikia and Naoussa. Naxos is also part of the offer, reached by a private boat transfer of about 20 minutes. Springer Reisen says island combinations remain popular, especially for travellers who want more than one stop.
Greek Charter Schedule
The summer programme is split across two periods:
- Paros: weekly Saturday flights until mid-July
- Naxos: reached by private boat transfer from Paros
- Skiathos: direct Friday flights from mid-August until late September
Free baggage is included on all charter flights, and the services are operated by Avanti Air.
The routes make Greek island trips easier for travellers starting in southern Austria, especially those who would otherwise need to travel through larger airports. Paros and Naxos suit beach holidays, food-focused breaks and quieter village stays, while Skiathos adds access to the Sporades, known for green scenery, clear water and sheltered bays.
The programme keeps Klagenfurt relevant for regional summer travel by offering direct leisure routes rather than forcing passengers into longer transfers before departure. It is not a large network, but it is targeted: small islands, short connections and package options built around family-run hotels. For travellers nearby, that can mean less time getting to Greece and more time actually being there.
