Starting in May 2026, Glasgow Airport will introduce a new weekly flight connection to the Greek island of Kos, operated by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. Flights on this seasonal route will begin on 26 May and continue through 20 October, taking off every Tuesday to match summer travel demand. The introduction of this route is a response to the growing interest in travelling to Greece among residents of Scotland during the summer season.

Alongside this upcoming route, Glasgow Airport currently serves a number of other Greek destinations. These include:

  • Corfu
  • Heraklion
  • Kefalonia
  • Rhodes
  • Zante

Thanks to this wider choice of destinations, travellers can organise their journeys with less hassle, skip unnecessary stopovers at other airports and more easily mix time at the coast with visits to places of cultural and historical interest.

We are delighted to see Jet2.com announce its sixth Greek destination from Glasgow to the sun-soaked island of Kos next summer. Expanded flight options to Greece have been sought after by Glasgow passengers for some time and the market dynamics clearly show the increasing trend of people in West Scotland searching for travel to this part of Europe. We are delighted to see Jet2.com respond to this demand with an expanded Greek programme for Summer 2026. Glasgow Airport looks forward to welcoming even more Greek-bound passengers from the city and the wider West Scotland region travelling from their local airport next year.
Matt Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer at AGS Airports

For those flying from Glasgow, Corfu offers the UNESCO-listed Old Town with its Venetian-style streets, the Achilleion Palace surrounded by gardens, and the coastal viewpoint at Paleokastritsa. Heraklion combines the ancient Minoan Palace of Knossos, the harbour’s Koules Fortress, and the Morosini Fountain in the city centre. On Kefalonia, visitors can take a boat through the underground Melissani Cave Lake with its striking blue waters, wander the quiet streets of the hillside village of Assos, and spend time on Myrtos Beach, where fine white sand meets bright turquoise waves.

From Glasgow, travellers can also head to Rhodes, where the medieval Old Town is enclosed by stone walls, the Acropolis of Lindos offers sweeping views over the Aegean, and the Valley of the Butterflies fills with thousands of butterflies during the summer months. Zante is home to Navagio Beach with its shipwreck between cliffs, the Blue Caves with vivid water reflections, and Bochali Hill offering sweeping island views. Kos, now directly linked to Glasgow, presents the harbour-side Neratzia Fortress, the ancient Asklepion site, and a waterfront promenade where fishing boats dock and visitors enjoy the coastal atmosphere.

The new route will give people in West Scotland a straightforward way to get to Kos, making it simpler to enjoy both the island’s cultural sites and its relaxing beaches. It adds to the variety of summer holiday options in 2026 and strengthens connections between Glasgow and the Aegean region. This direct access is expected to save travel time and provide more flexibility when planning both short breaks and longer stays.
