ITA Airways Introduces Nonstop Rome-Bangkok Flight for Winter 2024/2025

ITA Airways, Italy’s national airline, is set to launch a new direct flight between Rome Fiumicino and Bangkok starting November 16, 2024. The route will operate five times a week, offering convenient travel options for both tourists and business travelers. Tickets for the new service are now available through all ITA Airways channels.

The Rome-Bangkok connection marks ITA Airways' first venture into the Thai market and is a key addition to its winter schedule. Alongside this route, ITA Airways will also inaugurate a Rome-Dubai flight on October 27, 2024. These new routes are part of the airline’s strategy to expand its intercontinental network.

Using an Airbus A330neo, the Rome-Bangkok flight will depart Rome on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3:15 PM, arriving in Bangkok at 7:40 AM the next day. Return flights will leave Bangkok on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 12:15 PM, arriving in Rome at 7:00 PM the same day.

"Bangkok is not only a major tourist destination but also a crucial hub for connecting to other popular destinations in Thailand. This route will facilitate both leisure and business travel, which is essential for the growing business traffic between Italy and Thailand."

Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, expressed satisfaction with the new connection, highlighting its potential to boost business and tourism between the two countries. He noted that the direct flight would enhance collaboration and traffic flow, benefiting both economies.

ITA Airways currently operates flights to 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental routes. Recent additions to its network include nonstop flights from Rome to Chicago, Toronto, Riyadh, and Accra, with upcoming routes to Dakar and Jeddah.
