IndiGo Expands with Non-Stop Flights to Bali from Bengaluru
IndiGo, India's leading airline, has unveiled its latest international venture with the introduction of non-stop flights from Bengaluru to Bali, Indonesia, starting March 29, 2024. This move marks the airline's continued expansion into popular tourist destinations, adding Bali to its extensive network as the second Indonesian destination after Jakarta.
Bengaluru to Bali: A Direct Gateway
The inauguration of the Bengaluru-Denpasar route is a significant milestone for IndiGo, making Denpasar its 33rd international destination. This new service is anticipated to enhance connectivity between India and Indonesia, facilitating travel for both leisure and business purposes. Bookings for this eagerly awaited route are now open, promising a convenient travel option for tourists and business travelers alike.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about the new connection, highlighting Bali's appeal as a tourist hotspot due to its straightforward visa process. Malhotra emphasized IndiGo's commitment to bolstering India-Indonesia relations through improved connectivity and the promotion of tourism and business opportunities.
Enhancing Indo-Indonesian Connectivity
The introduction of direct flights between India and Indonesia represents a significant shift from the past, where travelers had to rely on connections through Southeast Asian hubs. IndiGo's proactive expansion strategy includes the previously launched Mumbai-Jakarta service and now, the new Bengaluru-Bali flights, underscoring the airline's role in fostering stronger bilateral ties and encouraging tourism and trade.
The addition of Vistara's New Delhi-Bali flights in December further complements the growing demand for direct connections, offering travelers more options to explore the renowned beach destination.
A Strong Market Presence
IndiGo's dominance in the Indian aviation market is underscored by its significant market share and strategic international expansion. The airline's consistent profitability, marked by its fifth consecutive quarterly profit, reflects a robust recovery post-pandemic. The recent financial success, highlighted by an impressive after-tax profit and increased passenger and capacity figures, showcases IndiGo's solid position in the competitive aviation sector.
