Île-de-France Mobilités Opens Metro Line 14 Extension in Paris
Île-de-France Mobilités has officially launched the extension of Metro Line 14 in Paris, connecting the northern Saint-Denis Pleyel with the southern Orly Airport. This significant project aims to improve transportation efficiency and accessibility in the region.
The newly extended Metro Line 14 now includes eight additional stations and two new termini, providing comprehensive connectivity through 21 stations between the north and south of Île-de-France. The line extends 27 kilometers, including 14 kilometers to the south and 1.7 kilometers to the north.
The extension of Metro Line 14 enhances connections with various transport services, including five RER lines (A, B, C, D, E), three tram lines (T7, 3a, 3b), ten metro lines (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13), and four train lines (H, J, L, R). Additionally, it will be integrated with future metro lines 15, 16, 17, and 18, further strengthening the transport network.
The new stations on this line include Saint-Denis Pleyel, Maison-Blanche, Bicêtre Hospital, Villejuif-Gustave Roussy, L’Haÿ-les-Roses, Chevilly-Larue, Thiais-Orly, and Orly Airport. All these stations are now operational, except for Villejuif-Gustave Roussy, which is scheduled to open in January 2025.
