IHG Continues to Expand in Greater China with 24 New Signings
IHG & Resorts hotels continue their growth trajectory in Greater China with the recent signing of 24 new hotel projects, demonstrating their commitment to providing high-quality hotel solutions across the region.
In Beijing, IHG hosted its inaugural owner-exclusive show-round of the year, where it announced the signing of 24 hotel projects, covering its core and premium hotel brands. These new establishments will strengthen IHG's presence in several cities and tourist destinations, such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Kunming, Datong, Rizhao, and Ningde, marking the company's expansion into new territories and reaffirming its commitment to growth in key markets.
During the event, IHG not only presented its new hotel projects but also provided insights into the growing investment trends in the hotel industry, focusing on the upper-midscale hotel segment. IHG's strategic expansion into this market responds to the growing demand for quality accommodation, highlighting the group's competitiveness and commitment to innovation.
Several Holiday Inn and EVEN Hotels projects were signed at the event, each offering unique features and investment opportunities. Holiday Inn caters to various consumer needs, from family vacations and leisure to apartments, meetings, and exhibitions, offering owners a wide range of market channels and profit-making opportunities. Additionally, IHG plans to introduce new room designs and value structures for Holiday Inn, further enhancing the brand's attractiveness to investors.
Over the past seven years, the implementation of IHG's franchising model in Greater China has led to significant achievements, significantly supporting the group's development in the market. As of December 31, 2023, almost 40% of IHG hotels operating throughout the region operate under the franchising model, with more than half of the hotels under construction also applying this model.
Today, IHG proudly presents 12 brands in the Greater China market, representing over 1200 openings or in the pipeline. In the future, IHG is committed to leveraging its wide brand portfolio to create memorable stays for guests and further high-quality development alongside partners in the hotel industry.
