Iberia Reopens Washington Route, Enhancing Transatlantic Travel
Starting April 12, Iberia reestablishes its direct air connection between Madrid and Washington, D.C., utilizing the advanced Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Flights will depart from Madrid's Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 11:50 am and arrive at Washington-Dulles Airport at 3:00 pm local time. The airline will begin with four weekly flights, gradually increasing to daily operations in September and October, and plans to maintain year-round service, significantly improving travel flexibility across the Atlantic.
Iberia is flying across the Atlantic with the Airbus A321XLR, a smaller and more fuel-saving plane than the big ones they used before. It still covers long distances and keeps travel comfortable. This modern narrow-body aircraft, specifically designed for extended routes traditionally served by larger planes, enables Iberia to sustainably increase frequency and operational efficiency.
