Hilton Heads for Thessaloniki’s Old Brewery
Hilton will open its first hotel in Thessaloniki in 2029, taking part of the former FIX brewery site in the city’s western gateway. The 184-room Hilton Thessaloniki will bring the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to Greece’s second-largest city, with the project sitting inside a wider mixed-use redevelopment rather than a standalone hotel block.

The project is being developed with DIMAND under a Foster + Partners masterplan for the former brewery site. The hotel will mix a new-build section with restored industrial architecture, which is the main difference from many central Thessaloniki hotels. A neighbouring building is also planned for the Philharmonic Orchestra and art exhibitions, adding a cultural reason to visit the district.
The location matters because FIX sits near the port and within reach of the city centre, while pointing attention towards Thessaloniki’s west side. Guests should be able to pair the hotel with the waterfront, Ladadika, Aristotelous Square, the museums and the food scene, though exact transport details are better checked closer to opening.
This hotel will suit travellers who want a bigger branded stay with meetings, rooftop time and on-site dining, rather than a small boutique room in the old centre. It should work for business trips, couples and weekend visitors who do not mind being slightly outside the most familiar tourist streets. The real test will be price and access once bookings open.
