Hamburg Airport Braces For Holiday Travel Surge
Hamburg Airport is preparing for a sharp rise in passenger traffic as the March school holidays begin, with terminals expected to become significantly busier at the end of February and start of March. Peak travel days are forecast for 27 February and 1 March, when more than 40,000 arriving and departing passengers are expected, alongside roughly 150 daily take-offs and landings.
Demand has grown steadily in recent weeks, particularly among families heading abroad during the holiday period. Sunny destinations such as the Canary Islands and Egypt remain among the most popular choices at this time of year. Long-haul journeys via major hubs including Dubai and Doha are also seeing strong interest, allowing travellers to continue onwards with a single transfer.
