The Dubai desert recently witnessed a remarkable event as hundreds of Emirates Group employees gathered to set a new Guinness World Records title for the Most nationalities in a yoga lesson. The record-breaking wellness initiative at Al Lisaili Camp, managed by Emirates Group brand Arabian Adventures, saw the participation of individuals from 144 different nationalities, eclipsing the previous record set in New York City.

The event, timed at sunset, was not just a display of physical agility but also a celebration of the vast cultural diversity within the Emirates Group, which employs over 110,000 people. The gathering included attendees from diverse countries such as Chile, Peru, Mexico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Honduras, Mongolia, Tonga, and The Bahamas, showcasing Dubai's global appeal as a vibrant and multicultural hub.

Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Emirates Group, Oliver Grohmann, emphasized the significance of the event in highlighting Dubai's status as a premier global destination for living, working, and investing. The initiative reflected the company's commitment to promoting wellness among its employees. Participants included Emirates cabin crew, dnata airport operations staff, safari guides from Arabian Adventures, dnata Travel experts, and more, representing various roles and nationalities within the Group.

The yoga lesson, led by Emirates Group staff who are also trained yoga practitioners, was part of a broader effort to foster a culture of health within the organization. A wellbeing session was also conducted by a Senior Counsellor from the Group’s Psychology Unit and a certified mindfulness teacher, aiming to cultivate a healthy mindset for the new year. The event was further enhanced with chill-out music by a DJ from the dnata Travel Group team and the soothing sounds of a 'tongue drum', known for its meditative qualities.

In line with the Group's sustainability efforts, the event was designed as a zero-waste initiative. Participants were provided with sustainable yoga mats made from biodegradable cork and reusable water bottles. This move not only promoted wellness but also underscored the Group's dedication to environmental responsibility.

This unique event in the picturesque Dubai desert not only set a new world record but also symbolized the unity and diversity of the Emirates Group's workforce. It stands as a testament to the company's commitment to the wellbeing of its employees and its role as a leader in promoting multicultural harmony and sustainable practices.
