Flight attendant shares how to calm a child during a flight
Flying with children is often a real challenge for parents. Crying, tantrums and other circumstances can turn your trip into hell.
Flight attendant Kevin (@ichbinvin) posted a video on his TikTok, revealing how to make the trip more relaxed, even if you travelling with cranky children.
"The first thing you need to do is just accept the fact that your child may cry on the plane, and that's normal. I've said it before, the only thing more annoying than a screaming, crying child on an airplane is someone who won't stop complaining about a child who screams and cries on an airplane," he said.
According to him, flight attendants do not pay attention to children's crying because they are already used to it and do not even notice it.
But there are actions you can take to calm your child as much as possible. "I would suggest just getting to the airport with plenty of extra time. That way, if security has to go through your strollers, all your bags, etc. for a long time, you won't feel stressed about being late," Kevin says.
He also recommends taking gadgets for older children for possible entertainment that they are used to at home like coloring pages, games and books.
To keep children feeling well, it's best to bring water and snacks. In addition, chewing will help them cope with ear infections.
Another tip is not to let children sleep before the flight, but rather let them do it on the plane.
