Evening Bag Drop Option Added for Early easyJet Flights at Birmingham

easyJet will introduce its free Twilight Bag Drop service at Birmingham Airport from 5 January 2026, giving passengers on early morning departures the chance to check in hold luggage the evening before travel. The service is aimed at flights leaving before 09:00 and allows bags to be dropped between 16:00 and 20:00, reducing queues and pressure during the busiest morning hours at the airport.
The scheme has already been rolled out at seven other UK airports and is now being extended to Birmingham as part of easyJet’s wider operational set-up. Travellers using the service can arrive at the airport the following morning without visiting the bag drop desks, heading straight to security instead. This approach is designed to smooth passenger flow at peak times, particularly during school holidays and winter travel periods.
We are always looking for new ways to make travel as easy as possible, so we are really pleased to be introducing our free Twilight Bag Drop service for our customers flying from Birmingham Airport.
As part of the offer, customers using Twilight Bag Drop receive discounted parking for up to one hour in Birmingham Airport’s Premium Set Down car park. The discount is applied by presenting the bag drop receipt when exiting the car park. The airline confirms that the service is free of charge and available to all customers booked on qualifying early departures, regardless of ticket type or destination.
What This Changes for Early Morning Departures
With baggage formalities completed the night before, a wider range of nearby and short European trips becomes easier to manage. Early flights heading towards winter sports resorts, southern European cities, or family holiday destinations can now be started with less time pressure. Birmingham’s central location also makes the service useful for travellers driving in from the Midlands who prefer avoiding pre-dawn airport arrivals.
This update reflects a steady shift towards spreading airport processes across longer time windows rather than compressing everything into early mornings. For people flying out of Birmingham, the change removes one of the more stressful parts of short-haul travel and makes early departures feel more predictable. Changes like this can take the pressure out of early airport mornings.
