Emirates Rolls Out Ramadan Services Across Network
Emirates has marked the start of Ramadan with a range of services for fasting passengers, both in the air and on the ground. Thousands of complimentary iftar boxes will be distributed onboard and at select boarding gates at the time of breaking the fast. The airline is also introducing special Ramadan meal boxes across all cabin classes on selected routes during the Holy Month.
On board, passengers observing the fast receive specially prepared Ramadan boxes alongside the standard hot meal service. These include dates, Arabic bread with dips, savoury sandwiches, sweet treats and laban. The crew determine imsak and iftar times during the flight based on the aircraft’s location, and the captain confirms when sunset has been reached. Prayer mats are available on request.

In Dubai International Airport’s seven Emirates lounges, traditional dishes such as lentil soup, Arabic mezze and lamb kabsa will be served, alongside sweets and Arabic coffee. Lounges in Cairo and Jeddah will also feature seasonal menus. On the ice system, passengers can access religious programming, the Holy Qur’an, Arabic series and music. Special Bukhoor fragrances have also been introduced for Ramadan.
These measures shape the journey well beyond the flight itself. Travellers heading to Jeddah or Medina for Umrah during Ramadan will receive dedicated meal boxes onboard and may check in one five-litre bottle of Zamzam water. Cabin crew and ground staff have undergone specific Ramadan awareness training, helping ensure that religious practices are respected throughout the travel experience.
