From 1 May 2026, Emirates will operate a second daily service between Dubai and Tokyo Narita, expanding capacity on the route. The additional flight will be operated by a refurbished Boeing 777-300ER and run alongside the existing daily service. Emirates says the move responds to steady demand for Japan while improving connection options through its Dubai hub.

The new rotation will operate as EK320/321. EK320 departs Dubai late evening and arrives in Tokyo Narita early afternoon the following day, while the return flight leaves Tokyo late evening and reaches Dubai early the next morning. This timing is designed to improve onward connections in both directions, particularly for passengers transferring between Japan and long-haul markets.

The aircraft used on the route is arranged in four classes: Economy, Premium Economy, Business Class with 1-2-1 seating, and First Class suites. Cabins have been updated with new seats and refreshed interior finishes. Passengers will also be offered Japanese dishes as part of the onboard menu, alongside access to more than 6,500 channels on the airline’s ice entertainment system.

What the added frequency unlocks

  • Shorter transfer times for domestic flights within Japan
  • Smoother links via Dubai to Europe, Africa and South America
  • More consistent arrival and departure options for long-haul itineraries

These improvements support connections with partner airlines Japan Airlines and ANA, extending access beyond Tokyo to dozens of domestic and regional destinations.

The larger schedule allows Japan to be included more easily within multi-region travel plans. Afternoon arrivals into Tokyo allow same-day domestic travel, while early arrivals into Dubai open up onward flights across multiple continents. The extra capacity also supports cargo traffic and reflects Emirates’ focus on strengthening established routes rather than opening short-term seasonal services.
