Dublin Bus, the state-owned bus operator, has planned to increase the number of female employees. They already achieved their goal when they hired a large number of female drivers in 2019 as part of the More Mná initiative.

Now Dublin Bus expects to achieve even greater success and offers competitive salaries. According to rsvplive.ie, a large-scale recruitment campaign is currently underway.

As part of this initiative, the company will hold a series of "Women Driver Open Days" to provide potential candidates with a unique opportunity to learn about the work and working conditions at Dublin Bus. Prospective drivers will be able to meet with experienced female drivers and inspectors who will talk about their experiences and share their advice. In addition, participants will be able to take part in a tour of the bus and visit the Central Control Center.

The open days are scheduled for March 2 and 23, April 13 and May 18. These events will be open only to women, as Dublin Bus recognizes the lack of female representation in its ranks, especially among drivers. The aim of the initiative is to create equal opportunities for all.

What is the salary for female drivers?

Dublin Bus is offering a competitive starting salary of €839.76 per week with the possibility of increasing to €972.31.

According to the company, the new drivers will perform regular transportation 5 days a week. The shifts are alternating, including night shifts.

"839.76 euros per week will increase to 972.31 euros (six-year salary scale, 5-day week, including shift and Sunday allowance)," Dublin Bus said.

In addition, Dublin Bus offers benefits after a 12-month probationary period, including a pension scheme, training and mentoring, paid maternity leave, access to a gym, a therapist scheme, an employee assistance scheme, an education support scheme for returning to the third level of education, free bus travel and discounted train travel.

How to get on Dublin Bus

You have to participate in the Open Days that will take place on March 2, March 23, April 13 and May 18. To participate, you need to fill out a form on the Dublin Bus website and confirm your interest. After that, you will receive information about the date, time and location of the event.

Please note that to participate in the Open Day you need to have a valid category B (car) license with a validity period of at least two years.
