Delta Turns Copenhagen Flight Into Festival Warm-Up
Delta will run a special New York-Copenhagen flight on 7 June tied to Copenhagen’s 3daysofdesign festival. Flight 218 is being framed as a "Flow State Flight", with onboard elements intended to support focus, calm and creativity before arrival. The airline is also creating a public festival space in the Symposium courtyard between 10 and 12 June for ticketed attendees during the event week.
The partnership places Delta alongside 3daysofdesign for the first time, using travel as part of the festival experience rather than only a way to reach it. The airline says recent data found that 79% of global travellers see in-person experiences as more meaningful in an increasingly online world, a finding used to shape the project around design, wellbeing and connection this summer.

It will give 3daysofdesign visitors space for quieter moments, conversation, coffee and cocktails. That makes the festival easier to approach between exhibitions, talks and design-led events spread across the city, especially for those building busy itineraries over three days.
The idea is unusual because it treats the flight as part of the trip’s creative build-up, not dead time before landing. Some extras may feel niche, but the practical angle is clear: quieter cabins, fewer distractions and better rest can matter on overnight travel. For design visitors, Delta is trying to turn transit into useful preparation rather than another tiring step.
