After a year-long hiatus, the Number 19 bus route between Melton and Nottingham is set to return, providing travelers with an economical and convenient way to commute. Centrebus, which halted the service in April 2022 due to commercial unviability, has announced the resumption of the route starting Monday, June 3. This reinstated service will feature four round trips each weekday, from Monday to Friday.

The bus schedule includes departures from Melton’s St Mary’s Way at 7.45am, 10.50am, 1.50pm, and 4.50pm, with return trips from Nottingham's Broad Marsh Bus Station at 9.40am, 11.45am, 2.45pm, and 5.50pm. Travelers can enjoy the flexibility of boarding the Number 19 bus at several picturesque villages along the route, including Ab Kettleby, Nether Broughton, Upper Broughton, Hickling Pastures, Stanton on the Wolds, Normanton on the Wolds, Tollerton, and Edwalton.

David Brookes, Managing Director of Centrebus, expressed enthusiasm about the service's return, highlighting the travel benefits for local residents and visitors alike. He emphasized that the reintroduction of the Number 19 bus on a commercial basis offers a fantastic opportunity for affordable and comfortable travel. The government-capped £2 single fare makes this service an incredibly cost-effective option for exploring the region.

The hope is that sufficient usage will not only sustain the route but also allow for potential future expansions. The government has extended the maximum £2 single fare until the end of the year, applicable to any bus on any route, making this a particularly attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Centrebus is eager to make the reinstated Melton-Nottingham route a success, inviting both residents and visitors to take advantage of this affordable travel option. The reintroduction of this service aims to provide a reliable and economical mode of transportation, enhancing connectivity and offering a scenic journey through some of the most charming villages in the area.
