British Tourist Dies in Magaluf After Collapsing in Street
A British tourist tragically passed away in Magaluf after collapsing in the early hours of the morning. The 49-year-old man was found on Martin Ros Street, close to the well-known Punta Ballena, around 4:30 am. A security guard discovered him and immediately alerted the authorities.
Despite the quick response, efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was identified by his hotel wristband, and his family and friends staying at the same hotel were subsequently informed of the tragic event.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. A spokesperson for Calvia Council confirmed the incident, stating, "A British tourist aged 49 died in the street this morning in the Magaluf area. It occurred around 4:30 am. The dead man was staying in a hotel in the area."
According to the council, the security guard who found the man reported that he appeared unwell and was seen stumbling in the street. Local police performed CPR but were unable to revive him. The investigation is now focused on establishing the cause of death, with the Civil Guard leading the efforts. CCTV footage from the vicinity is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted within the next few hours to provide further insight into the cause of death. The Civil Guard continues to gather evidence and interview witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the man's collapse.
