Bristol Travellers Get a Budapest Winter Route

easyJet will add Budapest to its winter network at Bristol Airport, giving people in the South West a new direct route to Hungary’s capital. The airline has opened bookings for flights and package holidays, with the service aimed at short breaks during the colder months. The service also gives Bristol another Central European link during a season when direct leisure routes are often more limited.

easyJet says seats are available through its website and mobile app, while easyJet holidays is also selling packages that include flights and hotel stays. The airline highlighted Budapest as a winter travel option, with festive markets, outdoor skating and thermal baths among the main reasons people visit the city outside the main summer season.
The route makes Hungary’s capital easier to reach from the South West without adding a change in London or another European hub. Budapest suits a compact winter itinerary, with Buda Castle, the Danube, ruin bars, Christmas markets and Széchenyi thermal baths all close enough to fit into a two- or three-night stay.
Budapest already has the right ingredients for a winter break, from thermal baths and riverside walks to Christmas markets and ruin bars. The new route makes the city easier to reach for people in the South West, without the extra step of travelling through London or another hub. For a short winter escape, that means less planning before the trip even starts.
