Boeing predicts that airlines will hire 649,000 pilots: timeline
The American Boeing Corporation predicts that airlines will need to hire hundreds of thousands of new pilots in the next 20 years. It is expected that the demand for specialists will increase significantly - 649,000 people will have to be hired.
Technicians and flight attendants will also be in demand. This is stated in a new Boeing report. In total, the company believes that the aviation industry will need 2.3 million skilled workers.
This is due to the growing demand for flights both domestically and abroad. In particular, there is a growing number of people willing to travel by air in Asia.
To meet the demand, airlines have already begun to develop training methods for crew and technicians. Boeing says it is doing its part by creating training programs that are more effective every time.
"With domestic air travel fully resumed and international traffic close to pre-pandemic levels, demand for aviation personnel continues to grow. Our training and assessment offerings will help ensure that future and current aviation professionals receive the highest quality training," said Chris Broome, vice president of Commercial Training Solutions, Boeing Global Services.
