Avalon Waterways Expands French Offerings for 2025
Avalon Waterways, a renowned river cruise company, is set to enhance its French connection in 2025. With the addition of two new rivers, totaling five, and the introduction of six new cruises, the company is increasing its capacity by 33% to meet growing demand.
The decision to expand its presence in France comes amidst the excitement surrounding the Paris Olympics and heightened interest in French destinations, as indicated by a recent survey. According to the survey, 37% of 16,600 respondents listed France as their top choice for cruising.
One of the highlighted cruises for 2025 is the "Bonjour Bordeaux: Châteaux, Wineries & Charming Villages", an 8-day journey starting and ending in Bordeaux, with visits to picturesque towns such as Cadillac-sur-Garonne, Cussac Fort Médoc, Blaye, Bourg, and Libourne. Additionally, Avalon offers extended two- and three-week cruising options with itineraries like "French Masterpiece: Paris, Normandy & Bordeaux," "France, Uncorked: The Rhône, the Seine & Bordeaux," and "Vineyards, Châteaux & Bordeaux."
For travelers seeking a more immersive experience, Avalon Waterways provides its signature Active & Discovery cruises, offering a range of excursions tailored to individual interests. Whether it's wine-focused tours, culinary experiences, or artistic pursuits, guests have the flexibility to customize their French vacation.
"With an average of 23 included Avalon Choice excursions on our Active & Discovery itineraries, guests can truly personalize their cruise experience," remarked President of Avalon Waterways. Activities such as wine tastings in the South of France, foodie walking tours in Paris, or painting classes in Arles provide guests with unique opportunities to engage with French culture.
Avalon's extensive lineup for 2025 includes 50 itineraries across three Suite Ships: the Avalon Artistry II, Avalon Poetry II, and Avalon Tapestry II.
