At the end of October, the city will mark another anniversary of its founding and begin preparations for a major jubilee next year. Key events include an opening concert at a large arena, which will be broadcast live on a national channel. The city archive will host free tours, exhibitions, and lectures, offering visitors the chance to explore one of the oldest documents about the city, dating back several centuries. Tourists will also have the opportunity to visit the local government residence for free and enjoy a new audio tour featuring fascinating stories about the city.

One of the neighborhoods will transform into an open-air gallery as part of an arts festival, where residents will decorate their windows with colorful displays. The celebrations will continue on October 31 with a chess tournament between districts, open to players of all levels. These events highlight the city’s cultural diversity and rich history, making the jubilee year enjoyable and accessible to all.

Beyond the anniversary events, tourists can enrich their experience by exploring some of the city's autumn highlights. October offers ideal conditions for a scenic canal cruise, where vibrant autumn leaves along the waterways create a picturesque and serene atmosphere. Visitors are also encouraged to explore Amsterdam’s renowned museums, such as the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, both of which host special exhibitions during this time of year, making it a perfect opportunity to delve into art and history.

For those seeking nightlife and musical experiences, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) gathers electronic music enthusiasts from around the globe, transforming the city into a lively hub with performances across multiple venues. To fully enjoy these attractions and avoid long queues, visitors are advised to book their accommodations and museum tickets in advance, ensuring a seamless and memorable stay in this dynamic city.

As the city embarks on this year-long journey toward its grand jubilee, both residents and visitors eagerly anticipate the exciting events ahead. From thrilling concerts and historical exhibitions to vibrant street festivals and cultural gatherings, the celebrations capture the essence of the city’s heritage and diversity. With something special for every traveler, this festive period promises unforgettable experiences that highlight the charm and spirit of the city at its best.
