American Airlines now operates flights to the Bahamas

American Airlines has initiated nonstop service to Governor's Harbour Airport in Eleuthera from its main hub in Miami, serving as the primary gateway for all its flights to the Caribbean and Latin America. The new Miami-Governor's Harbour route will operate year-round on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

As per the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Governor's Harbour Airport has undergone recent renovations, enhancing its arrival and departure facilities. This improvement has enabled airlines like American to commence commercial service, as reported by travelandleisure.com.

Eleuthera is a secluded paradise renowned for its upscale resorts and pink sand beaches, with the capital, Governor's Harbor, situated centrally on the 110-mile-long island. American Airlines also offers twice-daily flights between Miami and North Eleuthera Airport, one of the three airports serving the entire island (alongside Governor's Harbour Airport and Rock Sound International Airport).

In addition to Governor's Harbour and North Eleuthera, American Airlines flies to other Bahamian destinations such as Nassau, New Providence; Freeport, Grand Bahama; Georgetown, Exuma; and Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

American Airlines is continuing to expand its Caribbean routes, offering up to three flights daily from Miami to Anguilla, Turks and Caicos, and beyond. The airline also has plans to introduce numerous new international routes this year, including flights from its main hub in Dallas-Fort Worth to Brisbane and Rio de Janeiro.
