AmaWaterways has announced the launch of two new river ships set to debut in 2026. These new additions, AmaMaya and AmaSofia, are designed to meet the growing demand for unique travel experiences along some of the world's most picturesque rivers.

Launching on May 24, 2026, AmaSofia will become the 24th vessel in AmaWaterways' European fleet. AmaSofia will offer 31 departures in 2026, featuring other popular itineraries on the Danube like "Melodies of the Danube," "Romantic Danube," and the festive "Christmas Markets on the Danube."

Its maiden voyage, titled "Magnificent Europe," is a 14-night journey that will take passengers from Amsterdam to Budapest, traversing three iconic rivers through four different countries. This itinerary is packed with culturally rich experiences such as guided bike rides through scenic vineyards, visits to local bakeries, and tours of historic castles and palaces.

AmaMaya is set to embark on its inaugural voyage on August 3, 2026. This seven-night cruise will explore the cultural and historical treasures of Vietnam and Cambodia. Guests will indulge in regional delicacies, participate in daily excursions, and enjoy luxurious amenities aboard the ship. AmaMaya will conduct 22 sailings in 2026, with plans to increase to 38 sailings in 2027.

The cruise line offers unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks with meals, as well as a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour. A variety of small group excursions are available, ranging from hiking and biking to special interest tours. Additionally, the ships provide high-quality Wi-Fi, a comprehensive Wellness Program with fitness classes, and convenient airport transfers.

AmaWaterways continues to lead the way in river cruising, offering exceptional service and unique itineraries. The introduction of AmaSofia and AmaMaya will further enhance their reputation, providing travelers with unforgettable journeys filled with cultural enrichment and luxury.
