Alaska Airlines Unveils 50% Off Partner Award Flights to Sunny Destinations
Oneworld carrier Alaska Airlines has announced its latest Global Getaway promotion, featuring 50% off partner award flights to six sunny destinations. This promotion, running from July 10th to July 31st, allows members of the airline's Mileage Plan frequent flyer program to book discounted flights for travel between October 1st, 2024, and January 31st, 2025.
The Global Getaway promotion, which began in April, initially included destinations like Fiji, Bali, and Zanzibar. The current batch of destinations includes Muscat in Oman, Athens in Greece, Rome in Italy, Delhi in India, Taipei in Taiwan, and Guadalajara in Mexico.
These award tickets can also be used to book an additional destination free of charge in each direction for up to two weeks, thanks to Alaska's generous stopover policy. This provides travelers with greater flexibility and the opportunity to explore multiple destinations during their trip.
Muscat, Oman, stands out as a unique addition, as the country lacks direct flights to the United States. Travelers can book flights via Doha with Qatar Airways. This inclusion is significant as Oman Air is set to join the oneworld Alliance later this year, potentially expanding redemption opportunities.
European destinations such as Athens and Rome are also part of the promotion, with flights operated by British Airways, Aer Lingus, Royal Jordanian, and Qatar Airways. For those heading to India, flights to Delhi are available via Doha and London Heathrow, with award prices ranging significantly depending on the class and cash surcharge.
In Asia, travelers can book flights to Taipei through Alaska's partnership with STARLUX Airlines, which will begin operations to Seattle next month. This partnership aims to provide seamless travel between the US and Taiwan.
Lastly, Guadalajara in Mexico is included in the promotion. Known as the birthplace of tequila and mariachi music, the city will be accessible with daily flights from Los Angeles and San Jose, in addition to the newly announced flights from Fresno.
This promotion is aimed at various travelers, from business professionals to families, offering them affordable options to explore cultural hotspots and popular tourist destinations.
