Air India became the first Indian airline to introduce self-baggage drop-off on international flights
Air India has introduced self-baggage drop-off and self-check in service at Terminal 3 of New Delhi International Airport for flights to Australia. This makes the company the first Indian carrier to offer this service on international flights.
It was extended to domestic flights earlier, Simple Flying writes. Air India will soon introduce this service to other international flights.
It's no secret that staying at the airport is becoming increasingly long and stressful for passengers, as the demand for air travel is growing every year.
The self-service innovation will reduce the waiting time for check-in, so Air India plans to offer this service on flights to more countries.
In addition, self check-in and baggage drop-off will soon be available at other airports in India.
Currently, Air India is implementing a number of measures to make it easier for passengers to board flights. The company recently launched Project Abhinandan, which means that specially trained employees have started working at 16 major Indian airports to provide assistance in check-in areas, lounges, at boarding gates, during transit or in the arrival hall.
