Air Canada Launches New Café for Domestic Travelers in Montréal

Air Canada has unveiled a new addition to its premium offerings at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport with the opening of a dedicated Air Canada Café. Located near Gate A2 in the domestic departures area, the lounge-style space opened on March 23 and is exclusively available to eligible domestic passengers. It represents part of the airline’s broader effort to modernize its airport services and provide time-efficient comfort for frequent travelers.

Unlike traditional lounges, the café offers a fast, self-service model that blends comfort with practicality. This is the third such café in Air Canada’s network and demonstrates the carrier’s continued investment in improving the experience of domestic passengers. Designed in collaboration with a local architecture firm, the space reflects Montréal’s café culture while meeting the productivity needs of business and premium travelers.

Inside, the café provides a curated range of local food options such as warm croissants with pistachio cream, smoked meat sandwiches, vegetarian wraps, and fresh salads. Self-service drink stations include locally brewed beers, kombucha, and Lavazza specialty coffee. Seating areas are equipped with USB-C charging ports and are arranged to suit travelers working on the go or taking private calls before their flight.

For those flying frequently within Canada, this development offers a smoother pre-flight experience with quick access, clear allergen labeling, and a focus on dietary diversity. The streamlined boarding pass entry system also saves time, especially for travelers not wanting to commit to long stays in full-service lounges. The café is accessible to business class passengers, Aeroplan Elite members, Star Alliance Gold travelers, and Aeroplan premium cardholders.

The launch of this café shows a shift in how airlines respond to changing traveler expectations. By focusing on comfort, speed, and local flair, Air Canada is setting a new standard for domestic travel amenities. For passengers, this means more efficient use of time at the airport and a more personalized, enjoyable journey.
