A single-engine airplane crashes into a car during an emergency landing. Video
A Lancair IV-P single-engine airplane crashed near Aero Country Airport in McKinney, Texas. According to preliminary data, the pilot made an emergency landing, lost control, flew over an overpass, and crashed into a car that was passing by at the time.
Fortunately, the incident was not fatal. One of the people involved in the accident was taken to the hospital, but the others did not need hospitalization. The video was posted on TikTok @jackschneider17.
According to McKinney Fire and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the pilot, who was flying a single-engine Lancair IV-P, failed to stop at the end of the runway.
At the time, there were two people on board, and only the driver was riding in the car. It is unknown which of them was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The author of the video noticed that the plane was not in good shape even before the collision. He promptly started filming, which will hopefully help the investigation.
The video shows the plane crashing into the car, as well as the abrupt stop of the vehicle behind it. The drivers reacted quickly and rushed to help the victims.
"All the cars stopped about 15 feet away. Everyone's mind went blank. I think everyone's minds went blank," said one of the witnesses to the crash.
The video shows that the plane was loaded onto a tow truck after the incident. Its fate is unknown.
