A 45-year-old woman, who tried to sneak onto the wrong plane and assaulted an airport worker in Britain, sentenced to one year in prison
Frantic 45-year-old Mistura Alade caused a real scandal at Gatwick Airport in London when she tried to sneak onto a plane after being denied boarding. The reason was that her passport was about to expire.
The woman was trying to fly to Milan but did not check the expiration date of her passport. Since now, to travel to EU countries, a passport holder must have at least three months left before the expiration date, Manchester Evening News writes.
After leaving the boarding area, she and her friend returned to try to get on the plane and broke down the security doors, setting off two alarms. They also resisted an airport employee, injuring him on the stairs.
Eventually, police and security detained the rowdy women a few minutes after the alarm went off. After that, the hooligan appeared before Birmingham Magistrates' Court, where she was found guilty of assault by beating and entering a restricted area.
The woman was sentenced to one year in a community prison with a requirement to perform 40 hours of unpaid work and 20 sessions of rehabilitation activities. She was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the injured employee.
Another passenger was also found guilty of the same offenses. She was sentenced to four months of correctional labour and ordered to pay £30 in compensation.
"Her reckless and selfish behaviour endangered her as well as other air passengers after she entered a restricted area of the airport in an attempt to board the wrong plane. This is a reminder that every passenger is obliged to make sure that their passport is valid for further travel," the police emphasized.
